Looking for an affordable after school program? Non profit Project GOAL offers academic help and special coaching clinics to disadvantaged students to help balance school with soccer.
Project GOAL (Greater Opportunity for Athletes to Learn) operates in Providence, Pawtucket and Central Falls every Monday and Friday from 3-6 PM.
Sixth, seventh and eighth graders receive one and a half hours of homework help then head out to the nearest field or gym to work with former professional soccer players.
According to the Project GOAL website:
“GOAL ‘fills the gap’ created by major cuts in after-school programming and activities by offering an all around program that provides a ‘haven’ and structured activities for needy students, not only after school but during summer and school vacations. We welcome and we need your support, either financially or as a volunteer.”
