Man City v Southampton

Manchester City lost their place at the top of the EPL after suffer a 4-1 thrashing at the hands to Liverpool. The only positives City can take from the game was that forward Sergio Aguero scored on his return from injury and the Sky Blues will need him to get up and running quickly, as they look toothless up top without him.

Southampton’s three game winning streak came to an end last week with a 1-0 home loss to Stoke City. The Saints struggled against Stoke’s well organised defense, but won’t be too dishearten as it is only their first loss in five games.

Southampton are unbeaten on their travels this season and have shown themselves to be a tough team to beat, but with Aguero returning I think City will just edge this one.

Prediction: 2-0

Leicester v Man Utd

Week 14 sees an EPL top of the table clash as Leicester City host Manchester United.

Leicester have been this season’s surprize package, but thoroughly deserve their spot at the summit of the EPL after playing some exciting stuff this season. The Foxes beat Newcastle 3-0 away last Sunday, and Jamie Vardy was once again on the score sheet equalling Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in 10 straight EPL games in a row.

Manchester United moved into second place in the EPL with a 2-1 away win at Watford. The Red Devils took the lead in the first-half thanks to a goal from Memphis Depay, however, they conceded with minutes to spare, but then got out of jail when Watford scored an own goal.

Leicester won this game 5-3 last season, which was one of the biggest shocks of the season, especially as United were winning 3-1 at one stage. However, United have become a lot more conservative since then and Leicester more attacking.

Jamie Vardy equalled former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy’s EPL scoring record last weekend and I have a feeling he is going to break it this weekend against the Red Devils.

Prediction: 2-1

SUNDAY

Tottenham v Chelsea

Tottenham thrashed London neighbors West Ham 4-1 last week to continue their fantastic run. The north Londoners have not lost a game in the EPL since losing to Manchester United on the opening day of the season. Harry Kane netted a brace for Spurs, and has now scored seven goals in his last five EPL games.

Chelsea ended a streak of three successive defeats with a 1-0 home win over newly promoted Norwich. The champions had a whole host of chances, but seemed to lack cutting edge with striker Diego Costa missing a host of clear opportunities. However, he did score the Blues’ all important winner and was once again on the score sheet midweek in the Champions League, so he may yet discover his form from last season.

Chelsea have traditionally done well against Spurs over the years, but they are really struggling at the moment and I think they will again against a Spurs team who are full of confidence.

Predictions: 2-1

Liverpool v Swansea

Liverpool continued their transformation under Jurgen Klopp with a stunning 4-1 win away to Manchester City. It looked like the honeymoon period for Klopp and Liverpool had come to an end when the Reds lost to Crystal Palace at Anfield last week, but they put on perhaps their best performance of the season and look good to challenge for a top four spot.

Swansea put a run of two successive defeats behind them with a 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth. The Swans were actually two goals down after 26-mins, but managed to draw level before the half to earn a point. The draw means Swansea have now only won twice in their last ten games.

Liverpool are playing some of the best stuff in the EPL in the moment, but will be without play maker Philippe Coutinho and striker Daniel Sturridge. Nevertheless, I think they will easily win this one.

Prediction: 2-0

Norwich v Arsenal

Both these sides lost last week and will be looking to bounce back quickly.

Norwich lost 1-0 away to Chelsea and have now lost five of their last six in the EPL. The Canaries play some decent stuff, but they just lack that little bit of quality in the important areas and look sure to be involved in the relegation dogfight.

Arsenal suffered their first defeat in six games with a 2-1 loss away to West Brom. The Gunners did have the chance to equalize late on, but Santi Carzola slipped whilst taking a penalty, causing him to sky his effort. However, they bounced back midweek with a terrific performance against Dynamo Zagreb in the Champions League, so I don’t think they will be too concerned.

Arsenal could be without a defensive midfielder with Mikel Arteta and Francis Coquelin is definitely out, and Mathieu Flamini is also struggling. Nevertheless, I think they will have too much firepower for Norwich and I expect them to easily win this one.

Prediction: 2-0
