With the U17 World Cup less than a month away U.S. U17 Men’s National Team coach Richie Williams has named a 24 player roster for a training camp in Mexico City. This will be the last chance for players to make their case for a World Cup place in Chile next month.

The highlight of the camp for the Young Yanks will be a two match series against Mexico with games being played on Wednesday, Sept. 23, and Friday, Sept. 25 as Williams looks for the right combo to face Nigeria, Croatia, and Chile in Group A play, with the first U.S. game October 17, versus Nigeria.

The Mexico games will be the final tuneups for the group after a busy schedule that took the team to Europe twice in recent weeks.

In August, Williams and his young charges were part of the Vaclav Jezek Tournament in the Czech Republic. The U.S. went 1-1-2, drawing 1-1 with both Slovenia and Slovakia, before finishing in style with a 2-1 win over Ukraine. The team then traveled to France earlier this month, finishing as runners up at the 2015 Limoges Tournament. The U.S. worked a goalless draw with France, and went home happy after a comprehensive 6-0 victory over Australia 6-0.
